Corporal Blake Burns U.S. Marines

Corporal Blake Burns resident and graduate of Arlington High School in Arlington, Ohio has now served his country for over 3 years in the Marines.

Always knowing he wanted  to serve his country he did not always know in which branch of the service he would join, that is until he found out the Marines had the longest recruit training. I didn’t know if I was ready for the military I knew I had to try to make it through the best, said Cpl. Burns. Once he arrived at Parris Island for boot camp he knew he had made the best choice for himself.

Cpl. Burns attributes his success to Staff Sergeant Johnson his first Platoon Sergeant. The way he lead his Marines has been the basic principles for how I lead my Marines today Cpl. Burns replied. His attitude and professionalism influenced Marines above and below him in his chain of command.

After boot camp at Parris Island South Carolina Cpl. Burns then went on to Iwakuni, Japan and Beaufort, South Carolina.

Blake plans to stay in the Marine Corps to further his career. The Marines have provided me with a lifestyle full of opportunities to further my education and travel that I would have never been able to receive if I had not joined, said Cpl. Burns.

In his spare time Cpl. Burns enjoys travel, repairing boats, riding dirt bikes and hunting and fishing.

Findlay Living proudly salutes Cpl. Blake Burns and wishes you the best in your career as a Marine.
