Our first question this month comes from Kim in Findlay she asks: Computers are getting faster and cheaper all the time. What good is this for me?

Well first of all this works for you in the fact that you will get more done in less time. Increasing productivity is always a good thing. As you get more done this gives you more time to relax and enjoy life.

Also understand that as computers become faster, the rate of decay for performance of your computer you buy today becomes faster. In essence it’s like driving a car off the dealer’s lot. You automatically lose half the value of the car you just bought. Computers don’t decay at that fast of a rate, but they do have a fast rate of value decay. This is due to the fact that technology moves faster and faster.

We are no longer reinventing the wheel. We are a globally connected society with instant access to information.
We can post the results of our failures and success on the web for the whole world to see. Power in the information age has shifted to the click of a mouse.

We have people making full time incomes from websites now. All they do is sit back and collect the commissions. It takes time to build it to that stage but it is possible. Stop and think for a second- what can’t you find out about online? This is the information age; if there is something that you don’t know it’s your own fault. Because the information is available freely.

We are no longer doomed to repeat the mistakes of others because we can see them in some cases real time. Streaming news, real time stock quotes, all this was not possible before the advent of the computer and the internet. Now we live in a world where I can find out anything I want about you for less then $50.00. The world is becoming increasingly transparent through the power of the internet.

What was once able to be covered up and hidden to the masses is not in a short time spread over the internet and has become an unstoppable force to bring transparency to our society. I remember 9/11 the news was only that nothing else mattered. There was no commercial’s it was total coverage.

Now only if we could take all this knowledge of technology and use the rate we grow at technologically speaking and apply it to our lives to help us grow in our faith in God -Amen.
