By Margie Stateler, Hancock Park District Visitor Services Manager

The Hancock Park District will be hosting two holiday events at the historic McKinnis House located in Litzenberg Memorial Woods to get folks into the holiday spirit and also take you back in time to 1847 with Hancock Park District living history interpreters.

"Pioneer Tea" is scheduled to take place Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1 at 1:30 pm each day.  Visitors will learn about early pioneer holiday customs, hear live dulcimer music, drink hot tea and sample period tea bread. Pre-registration is necessary to attend with a $6.00 fee, per person, by Thursday, November 29. Reservations are limited, due to space, and are taken when payment is received at the HPD office.

"McKinnis House by Candle Light" is schedule for Saturday, December 8 from 6-9 pm. Visitors can enjoy a fireside visit inside the historic home with living history characters from the 1840's and find out why they will or won't be celebrating the holidays. No registration is necessary to attend.

Any additional information can be obtained by contacting Hancock Park District Headquarters located at 1424 East Main Cross Street, Findlay, OH or by calling 419-425-PARK(7275).
