The University of Findlay's Homecoming 2007: Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Future was held Oct. 12, 13 and 14. Many alumni returned to campus to join students, faculty and staff in the festivities.

An alumni recognition dinner was held Oct. 12 in the Alumni Memorial Union. Distinguished Alumni, members of the Athletic Hall of Fame, past Findlay College and UF Homecoming queens, visiting business executive A.R. Charnes and the Class of 1942 were recognized.

On Saturday, Oct. 13, festivities kicked off with a 5K and Little Oiler Fun Run beginning in front of Old Main. The event raised $2,800 for Open Arms Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services. The University also partnered with the A-T Cure Tour and raised $900 for that cause.

The Alumni Association Annual Breakfast was Oct. 13. Nine alumni were recognized for their contributions to their professions and communities. The 34th Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony also was held. Six Oiler athletes were inducted.

From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., a celebration on the front lawn of Old Main featured a golf cart parade, UF choir alumni reunion, class reunions, KidsZone, Create-a-Cookie recipe contest and more.

During halftime of the Mercyhurst vs. UF football game on Saturday, the UF Homecoming queen and king candidates were introduced, and Laura Tietje and J. Desmond Perry were announced as queen and king. UF won the game, 38-22.

Festivities ended on Sunday with an alumni art exhibition reception and a special service by the College First Church of God at Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
