United States Army Specialist Alan Thomas, 23, of Findlay is our November Serviceman of the Month. A graduate of Findlay High School, he played ice hockey while in school.

Alan has been serving our country for almost three years. He completed Basic Training at Fort Bening, Georgia and is currently stationed in Baghdad, Iraq as a Gunner. When he is not deployed, he is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

When he completes his tour, the Army Specialist plans to continue serving by pursuing a career in law enforcement. He advises anyone considering enlisting to focus on a job that will be useful as a civilian.

Thomas is the son of Dr. and Mrs. James Thomas, who live in Findlay, as does his sister April. he has two children: Bailey who lives in Findlay and his step-daughter, Hannah, who resides in Texas with his wife Nicki Thomas, where they are waiting for him to return from Iraq.

Alan's father has been his biggest inspiration and he joined the United States Army because of his desire to serve his country. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys having cookouts and spending time with my wife and family.

If you would like to nominate a Serviceman of the month, please contact Findlay Living Magazine at (419) 420-9327 or email us at stories@findlayliving.com
