Saturday, May 3 - 12th Annual Fish Festival
8am-12pm; Registration begins at 7:30am – Riverbend Recreation Area, Lakefront Activity Center - Open to children ages 5-13 with an adult companion from 8-11am.  All state fishing rules and regulations must be followed and no catch and release. Event sponsored by Findlay Optimist Club, ODNR, WFIN/WKXA, Burger King on Tiffin Ave, and Centennial Screen Printing and Engraving.  Concessions provided by Findlay Civitan Club.  Bait for sale on site by P&A Tackle. Conservation groups will be on hand in The Lodge with information from 8am-12pm.

Monday, May 5 - Discovery Story: Poopadoop
10am, 1pm, & 7pm. Oakwoods Nature Preserve, Discovery Center - For children ages 3-6 with an adult companion.  Get the scoop on poop! Learn how to identify animal scat, so you’ll know who has been wondering around the parks. Includes a story, activities and a craft.

Saturday, May 10- Spring Disc Golf Tournament
10am. Riverbend Recreation Area, Shelter #3 - Beginners to advanced players can join in two rounds of “Disc Golf” fun and compete in this Disc Golf Community Association event. Prizes will be awarded to half the field in each division. Think you’ll throw a hole-in-one; join the Ace Pool for a chance to win a cash prize. Tournament entry fee for all divisions is $20.  Onsite registration begins at 8:30am. To pre-register, contact Dennis Hills at 419-523-5423 or dhills@wcoil.com.

Sunday, May 11 - Flowers of HPD
1-4pm Open House. Oakwoods Nature Preserve, Discovery Center - Bring mom and grandma to see what beautiful wildflowers that were seen during this year’s monitoring.  An ongoing slide show of this year’s find will be on hand as well as information on flowers, and starting your own flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Free packets of seeds will be provided.

Sunday, May 18 - Church Program
1:30-4:30pm Litzenberg Memorial Woods - The Reverend (portrayed by Mike Beliar) will be paying a very special visit to the McKinnis house for a Sunday church meeting. Come join the McKinnis family and friends as they attend a short period service and discuss church business.

Saturday, May 31 - Dutch Oven Cooking
7 pm.  Riverbend Recreation Area, Campground – Bob Connour and Joe Routzon will teach you how to cook over the campfire using a Dutch oven. You’ll also learn a new recipe and sample the finished culinary masterpiece. Please bring lawn chairs or a blanket. Advance registration required by Tuesday, May 27 with $2 fee per person.
