Findlay, OH - The United Way of Hancock County has selected Tammy Routson-Combs as the Spotlight Volunteer for the month of January . She was nominated by a group of teachers at Lincoln Elementary school for volunteering in many capacities. Her nomination indicated that she is hardworking and donates many hours preparing games, activities and books for the students. She assists the teachers by making copies and donating items that are listed on the teachers' wish lists. Routson-Combs has been volunteering at Lincoln Elementary school for three and 1/2 years. She also volunteers for the Appleseed Ridge Girl Scout Council and manages all of the Girl Scout leaders at Lincoln.

When asked why she volunteers, she responded, "I have the attitude that kids will have a good time, if I help. I would rather have the teachers in the classroom than making copies and doing work that they can hand off.

I was a Girl Scout when I was younger and I like to meet people and…work with kids." Routson-Combs lives in McComb and has three daughters, who are all Girl Scouts. In addition to volunteering at Lincoln, she volunteers for the Hancock County Park District and St. John Lutheran Church in McComb.
