Endless Ocean is a game that only a very special type of people will actually enjoy. There is no combat in this game, no evil villain trying to take over the world, no strategy, no racing, really not much of anything associated with most games today. Instead, the entire point of the game is to swim around and pet fish, which for some reason gives you information about them. You can take people on guided tours of the ocean floor and take photographs of the fish as well, but really that’s just about all that there is to this game; swim around and read about fish.

People like me, who wish a shark would come along to make the game a little more interesting will be bored to death within about twenty minutes of playing this game. Swimming around a fake ocean and petting pretend fish in order to read about them really just isn’t fun for me, and I honestly doubt that it will be fun for most other people. However, for those gamers who find the ocean and all of its critters fascinating, this game might actually be for you. It more or less works fine for what it is; the player points the Wii-mote at the TV and swims in that direction. This makes swimming around and examining the environment fairly simple. Other than that, there really isn’t a whole lot to say about this game. I found it extremely boring, and I’m sure that most other people will as well, but those who are actually interested in the ocean and the animals in there will probably enjoy this game.

As long as nobody expects any action or exciting moments from this game, but plays it just for the satisfaction of swimming around and looking at the under water world and reading about fish, than they will probably enjoy it. If you’re like me and enjoy actually doing things in a video game though, look for something else.
