April 4 “Leatherheads” George Clooney directs and stars in this romantic comedy surrounding the beginning of pro football in the 1920s. Renee Zellweger and John Krasinski (“The Office” television series) also star. ”Nim’s Island” Jodie Foster, Gerard Butler (“300”, “P.S. I Love You”) and Abigail Breslin star in this PG-rated fantasy adventure based on the book by Wendy Orr and Kerry Millard. “Shine a Light” Martin Scorsese directs this Rolling Stones documentary which hits conventional theaters & IMAX. April 11 “Smart People” Dennis Quaid stars as a talented professor trying to understand his family in this comedy/drama. Ellen Page (“Juno”), Thomas Haden Church and Sarah Jessica Parker co-star. “Street Kings” Writer/director David Ayer’s latest crime drama stars Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker, Chris Evans and Hugh Laurie (“House” television series). April 18 “88 Minutes” Al Pacino plays a professor/forensic psychiatrist has a short time to find a suspect who finds his related work puts him in some serious danger. “The Forbidden Kingdom” Jet Li and Jackie Chan and newcomer Yifei Liu make a martial arts dream team in this time traveling action epic. “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” Jason Segel (“How I Met Your Mother”) writes and stars in another Judd Aptow comedy production. “The Rocker” Rainn Wilson (“The Office” TV series, “Juno”) and Christina Applegate star in this rock and roll drummer comedy. April 25 “Baby Mama” Comedy with Tina Fey (“30 Rock” TV series) and her SNL colleague Amy Poehler (“Blades of Glory). “Big Stan” Rob Schneider makes his directorial debut in this prison comedy where a fighting expert, played by David Carradine ("Kill Bill") helps him bring peace. Jennifer Morrison (“House" TV series) also stars. “The List” This thriller stars Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor and Maggie Q (“Live Free or Die Hard”). May 2 “Iron Man” Jon Favreau (“Elf”) directs another Marvel comic adaptation. Robert Downey Jr. headlines the all star cast as inventor/tycoon Tony Stark who becomes the well casted hero. “Made of Honor” Patrick Dempsey (“Enchanted”, “Grey’s Anatomy” TV series) tries to woo his best friend, played by Michelle Monaghan (“Mission Impossible III”), back in this romantic comedy. May 9 “Redbelt” Director/screenwriter David Mamet expands in new territory in this Los Angeles street fighting drama starring Chewitel Ejiofor, Emily Mortimer (“The Pink Panther”), Tim Allen and Joe Mantegna. “Speed Racer” The writing/directing Wachowski brothers offer an action filled adaptation of the 1960's Japanese animated series. Emile Hirsch (“Into the Wild”) stars as the lead, Speed, while Christina Ricci plays his girlfriend and Matthew Fox (“Lost” TV series) plays his rival. “What Happens in Vegas” Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher star as Joy and Jack in this romantic comedy where money, weddings and deceit all factor in. May 16 ”The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” This highly anticipated sequel, the second in the film series, adapts the C.S. Lewis fantasy as the three siblings return to Narnia. Andrew Adamson (“Shrek”) returns to direct and co-write the screenplay.
